It used to be that to get on the internet, you had to connect through your phone line. Less than a generation ago, this was considered state of the art. Nowadays, it seems archaic. Currently, there are several other ways to connect to the internet, including DSL lines, cable, satellites, wifi and even through cell lines. Your choice depends on why you need the internet.
Of course, they all have their advantages and disadvantages. For the occasional user who needs to look up information, the phone line fits the bill. Yes, it is slow, but if you are just reading occasionally, why pay for more? For the person who makes a living on the internet, faster is probably better, so you are better off with cable, satellite or DSL. Yes, it is pricier but time is money. If you are a salesman or someone who needs to access the internet at many different locations then 4g is the way to go. WIFI works if you like to do not like to be tied down to an office, but can choose where you can work.
Of course, you can always choose more than one way, one for each device you use.
