Today reading has gone high-tech. Handheld digital readers are available from several manufacturers that enable the reader to have an entire library in a device the size of a picture frame. E-Books come in almost subjects, from best sellers to free classics. Public libraries are making E-Books available to their public in increasing amounts. Search engines are making E-Books available for downloads, many are classics and out of print items. Researchers and students are discovering these gems of literature and now have access to items unavailable until now.

New E-Books for the family are available from internet vendors and download almost instantaneously. The price of E-Books is less than half of the print edition as a rule and and can be downloaded to the reader. Many programs are available online for free that duplicate the reader’s functions and permit E-Books to be downloaded, saved and read by laptop, net-book or tablet. Family reading has just gotten easier. Story times can continue on vacation, trips and visits to grandparents because the favorite books are now E-Books, stored in an easy to pack and use reader. The readers even have lit screens to make reading easier. E-Books are available online and the library or bookstore never closes.
